Steve Armstrong is co-founder, CEO, and Managing Member of Plasmend Medical
Steve is a seasoned medical device executive with a successful career as a solutions-driven leader in medical device operations focusing high-powered device development and manufacturing. Steve has over three decades with medtech and the medical device companies including Lexagene (COO), Palomar Medical (SVP of Operations), Conformis (SVP of Operations), and IPG Medical (Senior Director; lasers, laser technology, and high-powered medical devices), Advanced Vision (President; ophthalmic lasers), and Visx. Steve graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Jeff Day is co-founder and Managing Member of Plasmend Medical
He is currently President of Summers Laboratories. Jeff is a seasoned specialty pharma executive with 31 years of experience in dermatology and related medical specialty markets. In 2013, he established Intraderm Pharmaceuticals as its President. Prior to Intraderm, Jeff was the founder and CEO of Quinnova Pharmaceuticals and was part of the team that secured $30 million in financing. Quinnova was acquired by Amneal Pharma, which was then sold to Exceltis (CHEMO Pharmaceuticals) and Jeff followed these transactions as part of management. Jeff has held strategic sales, marketing, and business development positions with major pharmaceutical companies and has deep pharma and medical device commercialization experience with strong key opinion leader ties in dermatology as well as domestics sales and distribution.
Mark G. Fontenot, ME, MBA, DDS is a co-founder and Managing Member of Plasmend Medical
Mark is currently Managing Member of Finalytics, LLC, a healthcare revenue cycle fintech company. He has been a serial entrepreneur with 30+ years as an executive with multiple exits in healthcare IT and medtech markets. Mark has been or is a founder and/or executive-board member with companies such as Revenue Management Solutions, Denalytics, Cutagenesis, VascularFX, and Gabriel Medical. Mark attended Tulane University, graduating with a BA (Mathematics) and BS (Physics). He attended LSU School of Dentistry and received his DDS. Distinctions include recipient of a Dentist Scientist Award (National Institutes of Health) consisting of a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (LSU Medical Center, Charity Hospital, New Orleans) and doctoral program in Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University (New Orleans); Pittsburgh Supercomputing Summer Institute Fellowship (Carnegie-Mellon University and Westinghouse Corporation); John N. Kent Postdoctoral Research Fellowship; Edward F. Hatton Award (International Association for Dental Research); Mildred Trotter Prize for Bone Research. Mark also received his MBA and Master of Engineering from Tulane University. Mark has 20+ US and international patents in the medtech, specialty pharma, and healthcare fintech markets.
